Flatbed Scanner
HP ScanJet II
Fine Artwork
Original artwork containing gradients (smooth color and tonal transitions) can be scanned safely as long as simple precautions are taken. The artwork must be fixed, if dusty or delicate; dried/cured, if painted or printed; and gently placed into the scanner. Care must be taken to not damage the scanner glass!
Too bad there is that one limitation: SIZE. If an image is too large, scan it in sections (being careful to align it straight to the edges of the scanner). These can then be combined in an image-manipulation program such as Adobe Photoshop.
This is a pastel. The original is 11" X 15". Artist: me. Please note the uncropped paper edge, revealing a slightly crooked scan.
