Vertical Photo Strip Collage

At the optional client's second level pages a vertical strip of photos will be displayed along the right edge of the screen. Each section of the site will have a unique color scheme. And the images at these pages will be duotoned in that color. A stroke in black helps separate the pictures from each other and the page.

This vertical photo strip is extremely simple, one image is piled on top of another, a stroke of 1 black pixel separates each image.

In this example the images are placed in a grid or series of boxes. Photos and empty space alternate. This gives the eye a chance to rest, as the photos are viewed.

I placed a guide down the center, and then a guide at the bottom of each image. The bottom of one image was automatically the top of the other. View > Snap to > Guides comes in handy here.

One final tip, I used images which were taken in the portrait layout rather than the landscape mode. Not all images will work well for this layout.

Here the images have been duotoned.

This layout has color blocks which alternate with the images. Choose colors which are present in your photos, and are part of the color palette you selected for your client.
