Course
Overview
A
hands-on introduction to using CSS and Photoshop
to create Web sites.
Subjects covered include: adding client content
to templates, establishing a site color scheme,
downloading images, editing images and image
styling. Modifying text and navigation.
Required
Text
There are two required resources, one a book and
the other a DVD that will be used for both the A and
B classes.
The book is Professional Web Design: Techniques and Templates 4th edition by Clint Eccher which is available in the student bookstore or online at amazon.com.
The DVD is Linda Hemenway's CS 50.21 A/B Webpage Design with CSS available in the Santa Rosa and Petaluma campus bookstores. You need to ask for the DVD, it won't be displayed on the shelf. The DVD is also available online.

These labs have an assortment of Macs and PCs, which contain Firefox and IE as well as HTML editors and graphics software. We have flash drives, scanners, color printers, and laser writers as well.
Email Response Policy
I check email daily M-F and at lest one day on the wekends. I will attempt to answer email questions within 48 hrs. When sending an email please include the course name in the subject line. Also please include your full name, your section number and a detailed description of the problem.

Homework
You will be creating various assignments
which allow you to complete a website which
have an opening page and second level
pages. You will also take quizzes, surf the
web for examples of excellence and evaluate
each other's work.
Many of the assignments require you to submit an online form in order to complete the assignment. If you have problems with the online form, send the information to your instructor in an email along with a description of the problem.
Getting
a Web Account
Some of you may already have an account with an ISP
that provides web space. Web space on the SRJC server
is offered at no charge to students. Accounts may
take up to 1 week to be initiated.

Grading
The grading button will take you to a page where
you can keep track of your grades. Late work
will only be accepted 1 week after due
date and a 20% deduction will be imposed.
If you are taking this course to complete one of the SRJC CIS Department Web Development Certificates, you must take the class for a letter grade.
