Janis Gloystein

Janis Gloystein Gross taught computers graphics in Australia for four months, and has freelanced for companies all over the Bay Area. Now she is enjoying the Sonoma County life and has just started a web design business named Mustard Flower Design so she can be here all the time.

photo of mustard flower fieldThere's a story behind that name. Several years ago she took her first digital photograph of a field of mustard flowers. She was really taken my the vast expense of flowers blooming along the highway. Entering the photo in the Mustard Festival Photography Contest, not knowing what a popular subject they were, she didn't win or sell anything, but had fun anyway.

She later found out that the flowers reflect all the sunlight back up to the bottom of the vines, so the grapes can catch more rays. Not only were they beautiful, but they were also a necessary part of nature's interconnected plan.
