8. If you want to change the text on one of the pages here are the steps you follow.

Before beginning read note (item #10) below.

For ease of use it's best to always open from the site window.

The easiest way to get to this after one opens Dreamweaver is to click on the F8 button.

To modify

Highlight the text you want omitted and type in the new text. Save.

To add

Choose where you'd like to add text and type it in or use copy and paste.

Make sure that new text is in the same size and font style as the rest of the page.

If not highlight the new passage and, in that lengthwise rectangular box that keeps getting in your way called the Property Inspector, on the middle of the top row, find the box that says Size. Using arrow go to –1.

It will cause text to shrink. That’s OK.

With text still highlighted go to the box to the left of size that says default font and using arrow choose Arial, Helvetica, san-serif.

Now everything should look uniform.

Save.

To add a link

To add a link to another web page such as www.costaricasportfishing.com

Type or paste in URL. Double check you got it right.

Highlight it and hit control or command/C to copy it. Make sure there is http:// in the front of it. If not add it.

Paste it in the box called link in the second row of the Property Inspector. It will change color and have a line under it to indicate it is a link.

Save.

To add a link to another page inside the site:

Highlight the words you want linked and in link box in the Property Inspector type the name of the page you wish such as about.html.

Save.

9. If you want to add a picture to the site, here is how you do it.

Before beginning read note (item #10) below.

For ease of use it's best to always open from the site window.

The easiest way to get to this after one opens Dreamweaver is to click on the F8 button.

You may want to change the photo. Have your new photo saved as a jpg (jpeg) in the photo file.

Open site window F8

Click on photo and then go to the Property Inspector and locate the Src box at the top middle.

To the right of the box is a file icon click on it and a box will open.

Use it to navigate to the new jpg you have previously saved in the photo file.

When you select it, it will be placed in the place of the old photo.

Save.

11. If you want to change the navigation bar for the site, what do you do?

Before beginning read note above (item #10).

For ease of use it's best to always open from the site window.

The easiest way to get to this after one opens Dreamweaver is to click on the F8 button.

You’ll need to have the graphic button made in Photoshop.

Open site window F8

In the left hand navigation bar Click on the bottom link Guest Book hit tab this will put your insertion point at the proper place for the next link. If you have made a new link gif: In the menu at the top look for Insert.

Under Insert choose Image.

This will open a box where you will be able to navigate to the images folder where you put your new navigation gif in the secondary file previously. When you select it, it will be placed in the correct place.

Save.

This procedure needs to be repeated on all pages. Then you need to link to it on all except the original file. You do this by selecting the navigation graphic; it will look like a little box is selected around the name. While it is selected, in the Property Inspector type the name of the file or use the file icon to navigate to it and select it.

Save.

You will also need to add a new link at the bottom of the page

Type in the new page name (My New Page) among the other links, using a | to separate it from the other links. You are going to need to repeat this on all the other pages and make a link to your new page.

Now you need to link this page on all pages except the original. You do this by highlighting the text you want linked. While it is highlighted, in the Property Inspector type the name of the file or use the file icon to navigate to it and select it. Before beginning read note above (item #10).

For ease of use it's best to always open from the site window.

The easiest way to get to this after one opens Dreamweaver is to click on the F8 button.

To create a new page

First one needs to decide what type of page one wishes to create.

Open Dreamweaver

Open site window F8

Open 2nd_template.html

Where it says template page you are going to put the title of the page. If you have made a new heading gif: click on template page and then go to the Property Inspector and locate the Src box at the top middle. To the right of the box is a file icon click on it and a box will open Use it to navigate to the new gif you have previously saved in the subheads file. When you select it, it will be placed in the place of the template page graphic.

At the bottom of the page in the text navigational area, make a new link:

Type in the new page name (My New Page) among the other links, using a | to separate it from the other links. (You are going to need to repeat this on all the other pages and make a link to your new page but we will do that later.)

You also need to make a link in the left navigational table.

Save.

Now you are ready to place your text. Type in or copy and Paste your text copy.

Highlight all the text In the Property Inspector, on the middle of the top row find the box that says Size.

Using arrow go to -1. It will cause text to shrink. That’s OK.

Save.

You may want to change the photo. Have your new photo saved as a jpg in the photo file. Click on photo and then go to the Property Inspector and locate the Src box at the top middle. To the right of the box is a file icon click on it and a box will open Use it to navigate to the new jpg you have previously saved in the photo file. When you select it, it will be placed in the place of the old photo.

Save.

13. After changing the text and picture how do you upload the revised pages to the Web?
