This year our women's team completed it's dual meets with a 6-2 record, and placed 3rd at Bay Valley Conference Championships (which includes the majority of the teams in Northern California). Nine members of our women's team--Amber Brenner, Lisa Brown (diver), Cheryl Canevari, Rachel Melick, Samantha Moore, Christin Newton, Ksenija Poljak, Amanda Richman (diver), and Heather van Hemert--qualified for and advanced to the State Championships in Pleasant Hill, CA and placed 5th in the state and ranked 6th nationally. Several team records were broken including: Heather van Hemert setting a new record in the 50 Free with a time of 24.55; van Hemert, Moore, Brenner, and Poljak setting a new record in the 800 Free Relay with a time of 8:10.34, and Melick, Newton, Poljak, and van Hemert setting a new record in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:52.35. Our men's team completed it's dual meets with a 5-3 reocrd, and placed fourth at the BVC Championship. Our male state qualifers were freshmen, Eric Gromala in both the breastroke events, and Ryan Jacobs in the butterfly. Gromala broke a school record time by swimming a 59.36 in the 100 Breastroke.
