Week One Homework- due January 20 (2 points)
- Install the following Web Browsers on your home computer:
- Click on the links below to install the following Firefox Add-ons:
- Complete ALL the “Getting Started” steps on my homepage http://www.santarosa.edu/~jdiamond/index.php
- Complete the class-check-in procedures
- Read part 1--Introducing the Suite and its applications (pp.6-118)
- Define a site in Dreamweaver and set up an account on student.santarosa.edu
- Create index.html with the following links:
- hw2.html | hw3.html | hw4.html | hw5.html | hw6.html | hw7.html
- These will become working links as you complete each week’s homework.
- Upload your index.htmll page to your web site

Week Two Homework - due January 27 (5 points)
- Read Lesson 1 (pp.120-145)
- Watch the following Adobe TV videos
- Working with metadata and keywords
- Working with multiple artboards
- Using Kuler Color Themes
- Using 3D in Photoshop CS4
- Complete the following:
- Create a custom logo that uses a Kuler color theme.
- In Dreamweaver select Blank Page>HTML> 2 column fixed left sidebar, header and footer
- Create a web page and place the logo in the header div
- Apply at least two colors from your Kuler theme to the web page
- In the mainContent div answer the following three questions based on the Adobe TV videos:
- What are three advantages of using metadata and keywords when working with Bridge
- How do you create a new document with multiple artboards
- Describes the steps necessary to create your own color theme in Kuler
- Create a 3D image in Photoshop based on the Adobe TV video and save it as a 24-bit transparent png file
- Make sure the image is optimized at a width and height no greater than 500 x500 pixels at 72 ppi
- Use the built-in .fltrt class to make the image float to the right of the text in the mainContent div

- Upload and link hw2.html to your website
Week Three Homework- due February 3 (5 points)
- Read Lesson 2 (pp.146-183)
- Complete the exercises as per the lesson instructions substituting:
- Your own logo for "Check.ai" from page one
- High quality images (resolution of 200 dpi or above) for
- The page one cover photo
- The page three photo
- Your own text to fill the second page based on the videos from tv.adobe.com:
- Column One summary of ideas from InDesign Getting Started 3 Character-Level Formatting and Getting Started 4 Paragraph-Level Formatting
- Column Two summary of ideas from InDesign Getting Started 5 Making a Paragraph Style
- Column Three summary of ideas from InDesign Getting Started 6 Placing a Flowing Text
- A block quote that distills the Lesson two InDesign concepts into a single sentence
- Save the file in two formats:
- In InDesign select File> Export> Adobe PDF> High Quality Print and drop it in the drop box here
- In InDesign select File> Export> Adobe PDF> Smallest File Size and upload and link hw3.html to your PDF or post hw3.pdf and change your index page to point to this file instead of hw3.html
Week Four Homework- due February 10 (5 points)
- Read Lesson 3 (pp.184- 233)
- Complete the exercises up until page 210 step 3. Instead of typing in 2 in the Duplicate State dialog box type 4.
- Complete steps 4-7 and for states 4 and 5 choose one of each of the unused large images that correspond to the thumbnails for each new state.
- The top four thumbnails should now have disjointed rollovers. You can use the name Mark Sousa for the names on states 4 and 5.
- Complete the rest of the lesson and save the actors.html page as hw4.html
- Upload and link hw4.html to your website
Week Five Homework- due February 19 (5 points)
- Due to the missed class time this homework will be the one directly from the book.
- Read Lesson 4 (pp.234- 263)
- Export the fla as per the instructions on page 258, step 3 but with the name hw5.fla. This will create 3 files, hw5.swf and hw5.html
- Upload both hw5.swf and hw5.html and link hw5.html to your website
Week Six Homework- due February 24 (5 points)
- Read Lessons 5 and 6 (pp.264-313)
- Download the psd file here as the content template for the homework assignment below
- Create two images 240 x 320 pixels which will be used on portable devices
- The first one will serve as the cover page
- The second one will serve as one of the interior pages
- Save these files as PSD files and place them in the drop box here
- Select File> Save for Web> Save as jpg files medium quality
- Create a page called hw6.html and place these images on this page
- Upload and link hw6.html to your website
- Create an account on Acrobat.com and send me an email inviting me to join you in your virtual office
Week Seven Homework- due March 3 (5 points)
- Start work on your client project by examining the project choices here
- Coordinate with your group members the tasks below.
- Contact your client by phone or email on Wedneday February 25. See the document above for email addresses and phone numbers
- Explain that you are from SRJC Multimedia Projects and that you chose their organization to create some multimedia content.
- Set up a client interview between Wednesday February 25 and Monday March 2
- Right-click on the Client Interview Worksheet and select "Save Link As" and save the worksheet to your computer. Upon completion of your interview fill out the form and click the Submit button to email it to me. When you click on the Submit button make sure to fill in all the group member names in the Name field before emailing the file to me
March 10-15- Spring Break
Week Eight- due March 19- Begin Working with clients (44 points)
- Contine working on your group project
- Download and examine the Multimedia Projects Plan worksheet (right-click and select Save As to save it to your desktop) and use it to think through the phases of your client project noting theassigned due dates. Identify an owner for each task who will make sure the task is completed.
- Download the CIS 75.91 Multimedia Projects Production storyboard (right-click and select Save As to save it to your desktop). Complete the form fields and then print this document to sketch your site (attach additional pages if necessary). Then scan it, save it as a PDF and place it in the drop box.
Week Nine- due March 26- Online Midterm
- Complete the online midterm
Week Ten- due April 3- Website Rubric
- Examine Website Design Rubric
Week Sixteen- Wrap-Up
- Complete the online final
