  • finish web site ON TIME (5/18/11) - 10 pts. (upload and send me email)
  • "present" your site on the Message Board - 2 pts.

Web site critiques and class evaluation are due Friday night, 5/20.
No extensions will be granted!

  1. (10 pts) You must have developed a web site that has a consistent theme and consists of at least 3 pages. In addition, all styling must be done with CSS and each page must display an XHTML Strict validation button and a CSS validation button. Put the finishing touches on your site and upload it to the server. The first page must be named index.html, and, if you have put your work in a special folder, you must contact me to be sure my link from the Class Gallery Final Projects page works properly.

Then send an email to cmassell@santarosa.edu with the subject "Final Project". In the body of your email you should include the contents of your CSS file.

  2. (2 pts) Write a short commentary on your web site and post it to the proper thread (Week 8 Discussion - Web Site Descriptions) on the Message Board. Please make sure that you identify yourself in this message the same way your name is displayed in the Class Gallery. You should include the following items:
    1. The purpose of your site.
    2. The features you used (that you learned in class) of which you are particularly proud.
    3. The areas where you had trouble and are still not satisfied, if any.
    4. How you will expand/improve the site when you have time.
    5. Any other information you would like to convey to the class.

  3. (8 pts) On 5/19, I will post another thread on the Message Board (Week 8 Discussion - Web Site Critiques) for each of you to provide feedback on the web sites of three of your classmates - you will be given assignments. This is your last test - can you manage three windows at the same time without going crazy? One will be open to the Message Board so that you can read each student's statement regarding their site, another will be open to the Class Gallery so you can look at their site, and a third one will be open to the feedback thread! I have every confidence in you :-).

  4. (5 pts) The other 5 points awarded in this assignment will be an average of your classmates' and my rating of your site. I will also provide individual (private) feedback on your site.

  5. (2 pts) Please take a few minutes to give me some feedback on the class as a whole. I've developed a Class Evaluation form that should make it easy for you to submit your comments.
