Good Example of Web Site Critique

Of the many attractive sites on the list for review, ArtQuest really caught my attention. This clean, user-friendly site has all the attributes of a great website, and I was really impressed by its look and feel, as well as its navigation.
Design: The layout of ArtQuest's site lives up to the organization's purpose of promoting art. The arty feel of the site is great! From the home page with its soft and subtle image underlayer, to the student created artworks featured on each subsequent page, this site manages to display art without overriding its content. The student artwork is impressive and clearly showcases the value of the organization.
I also liked the color scheme of both warm and cool colors together. The design/color scheme is groovy and elegant simultaneously.
Content: The text of ArtQuest is well-written and concise. All of the text is categorized and highlighted accurately. The writing is detailed, but not too verbose.
Navigation: I think this site deserves and "A" for its navigation. The top menu bar, side menu, and bottom menu make this site very user-friendly. The right number of headings on the top menu with their drop-down sub-headings allow for prompt direction and quick searches. There's a clearly written index and many "return to top" options. You can get around the site easily and quickly and in our hurried world, that's important.
Overall: Excellent site. I prefer websites that allow me to find what I'm seeking quickly, and without too much distraction. ArtQuestonline is visually appealing, easy to navigate, and a pleasure to read. I enjoyed exploring it. Not only was I impressed by the program, but also by the work of the Santa Rosa JC students who designed and implemented the website.
