CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTIONAL APPROACH
Students enrolled in Weekend College will take a specific set of classes
in both face-to- face and online formats. The curriculum includes
all required classes for an associate degree in Social and Behavioral
Sciences including most courses required for university transfer. However,
the requirements for transfer will differ, depending on the upper division
major and the institution.
Note: For Transfer to a Four-year University
Due to the complexity of the transfer process, it is required that
Weekend College students meet with a counselor to discuss transfer options.
Summer
Weekend College students may use summer sessions to catch up on coursework,
if necessary; take additional coursework for university transfer; or
take electives for personal or professional enrichment. Enrollment in
summer session is not required to participate in Weekend College.
Fall/Spring Semesters
Students may enter the Weekend College Accelerated
Degree Program in either fall or spring. The curriculum is designed so
students may complete the A.A. degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences
in five consecutive semesters. Weekend College classes meet 12 weekends
during the semester. Finals are held the weekend following the last class.
Weekend College courses are linked until the end of Priority 1A registration,
allowing Weekend College students access to the courses they need to
complete a degree.
Courses offered during the 2007-08 academic year are:
