GET STARTED! WEEKEND COLLEGE CHECKLIST

Check off the following as you complete the steps to enrolling in Weekend College!

Registration

The registration process for Weekend College is unique. It is recommended that you fill out the Letter of Interest and submit it to the Weekend College Office, plus fill out an SRJC Application for Admission, meeting the deadlines outlined on the Weekend College Web site.

Letter of Interest

Submit a Letter of Interest by (1) downloading the PDF on this Web site, (2) calling the Weekend College Office at (707) 521-7888 to request that a Letter of Interest be mailed to you, or (3) simply filling out a Letter of Interest in the Weekend College Office located in the Adult Reentry Services Office on the Santa Rosa Campus.

Application

File an application in person or go online to www.santarosa.edu/app/admissions.

Assessment

Take Placement Tests to qualify for the required English and math courses. For testing schedule and study guides, call (707) 527-4661 on the Santa Rosa Campus and (707) 778-3908 on the Petaluma Campus, or access online at www.santarosa.edu/app/placement.

Orientation

For a strong start at SRJC, sign up for an orientation. At Orientation you will receive helpful information, meet other students, and have your questions answered by counselors.
• Information to help you navigate the admission and registration processes
• An introduction to college resources and services
• Information about associate degrees, occupational certificates, and transfer requirements to a four-year-university
• Ideas about becoming a successful student
• An overview of college regulations and students rights and responsibilities
• Assistance in creating a first semester academic plan to match educational goals
• An opportunity to meet SRJC counselors and other new students in person

Counseling

You must meet with your Weekend College counselor for a Mandatory Academic Plan (MAP). Call 521-7888 to set up an appointment.
• Bring transcripts from other colleges.

Paying For College

Check into SRJC’s many financial assistance options by contacting the
Financial Aid Office at (707) 527-4471 on the Santa Rosa Campus or www.santarosa.edu/finaid. In addition, contact the Scholarship Office at (707) 527-4740 or www.santarosa.edu/scholarship. SRJC offers students one of the largest financial aid and scholarship packages.
