By choosing Santa Rosa Junior College, you have selected one of the finest
community colleges in the state of California. With an outstanding faculty and
staff, superb facilities, and a Board of Trustees committed to serving students,
Santa Rosa Junior College is positioned to meet the needs of the residents of
our District well into the 21st century.
In addition to pursuing rigorous academic programs, students at SRJC have the opportunity to participate in a myriad of extracurricular activities that add an important dimension to college life. From semester abroad programs to award-winning athletic and forensics teams, to talented performing and visual arts groups and an active student government, opportunities for involvement, self-expression and optimal performance abound at SRJC.
I know that nationally the cost of a college education continues to rise. As one of the publicly funded California community colleges, SRJC is able to offer educational programs at a reasonable cost. In addition, the college has, through its unique involvement with Exchange Bank and generosity of the donors to The Foundation of Santa Rosa Junior College, outstanding financial aid and scholarship programs to help students pay for their college education. Student employment and internship programs are also available to help students offset educational expenses.
While SRJC's main campus is located in the heart of Santa Rosa, classes and programs are offered in several locations throughout the District. In the spring of 1995, SRJC will open its new Petaluma Center, a modern well-equipped facility situated on 40 acres in east Petaluma. Plans are being drawn up now for construction of a permanent facility for our Criminal Justice Training Center to the north of Santa Rosa in Windsor.
I am pleased that you are considering Santa Rosa Junior College. I wish you the very best as you begin or continue to pursue your educational goals and I look forward to seeing you on campus.
