View the Generation Next DVD, followed by group discussion. NewsHour and Frontline journalist Judy Woodruff examines the lives of 16-25-year-olds across the United States and demystifies this massively diverse group that is hooked on technology, exceedingly tolerant and generally supportive of gay rights and racial differences. It is also a group swamped in debt and facing a future marked by complex global challenges.

AA:SP07:54 DSL (Department Safety Leader) –Level 2 SEMS/NIMS
Don Silverek, District Police
This second level training course is mandated by Federal and State law. It is part of preparing staff and faculty to plan, exercise and evaluate their emergency response abilities. Participants will learn why and how the Standardized emergency management System, known as SEMS was developed. The National Incident Management System or NIMS will be explained. They will receive an overview of the Incident Command System or ICS> These three systems will illustrate how our own District fits into the local operational area, regional, state and federal response plan. This level 2 training needs to be taken once and fulfills the mandated requirements of IS-700. Successful completion of both DSL/Level 1 course and the DSL/Level 2 course makes the participant eligible to receive safety gear.
This activity fulfills Article 22 criteria B and AB 1725 criteria 7 |

AA:Sp07:55 Forklift Certification

All District employees who operate forklifts must be trained and certified. This course covers maintenance, inspection, and safe operation of powered industrial trucks. It is an operator safety course. Attendees must already have training and experience in driving a forklift. A written test and a driving test must be successfully completed to receive an operator’s license. Refresher every three years. Flex credit only for faculty if their job requires operation of forklift truck.
