Greetings to all returning faculty and staff, and special greetings to those faculty and staff just now joining the SRJC community. Last year we endured the biggest fiscal crisis in the memory of anyone now at the college, and there may be more fiscal challenges to come. It is precisely in times like these that we must continue to come together, to make plans, and to renew ourselves in a hopeful spirit. And so I look forward with special pleasure to the Professional Development Activity days this fall.

The Fall 2003 PDA days are Thursday, August 14th and Friday, August 15th. Activities over the two days include workshops, presentations, departmental meetings, and a community sponsored lunch.

On Friday there is a new all district program designed around the theme of creating respectful communication on our campuses. The dialogue and workshops on this day will center on inclusion and campus climate. The community sponsored all district lunch will provide attendees with an opportunity to meet and welcome new faculty and staff.

All staff are encouraged to attend. Again, welcome back, enjoy the presentations and activities, and have a great fall semester!
