Administrators and Classified Staff
Classified Staff, Managers, and Administrators are encouraged to participate. Classified Staff may attend with prior approval from their supervisor. No attendance verification is necessary. (There is no official form required to obtain release time; just use simple communication in the form that works best for you and your supervisor.)

Attendance & Verification
Faculty with semester-length assignments are released from their regular duties to attend professional development activities and are paid for such attendance. Attendance verification is required by the Chancellor’s Office.

Regular Faculty:
Friday, August 15, 2008 is a mandatory day.
There will be NO make up for activities missed. A Notice of Absence (NOA) Form must be filed with the Human Resources Department by May 1, 2009 if absent.

Adjunct Faculty (including Unit A):
Adjunct Faculty are welcome and encouraged to attend the August 15, 2008 Institutional Day, but attendance is not mandatory. Please be advised that, if you have a flex obligation for the Fall 2008 semester, this event does count for flex credit (a completed verification form is necessary to receive credit), but if your class is cancelled or your obligation changes for any reason, you may end up not being paid for this day.

Adjunct faculty flex obligations are equal to the total number of hours taught in full-semester classes on Wednesday and Friday during the Fall 2008 semester.
