Welcome to the SRJC Web site for Project LEARN ( Learning Enhancement
through Assessment and Reflection ), our ongoing
commitment to student learning outcomes. In 2002, the College recognized
the importance of creating an institutional response to the national
movement that approaches instruction as a collaborative opportunity
to improve student learning.
In spring 2003, the Institutional
Planning Council (IPC) determined
that student learning outcomes at SRJC would be instituted under the
auspices of the Educational
Planning and Coordinating Council (EPCC),
as that body is co-chaired by the Academic Senate President and the
Vice President of Academic Affairs. Subsequently, Project LEARN was
established to spearhead the process that would involve students, faculty
and administration.
Project LEARN now consists of a steering
committee
and several committees that take the
lead for developing policies, procedures and resources for course,
program and institutional student learning outcomes assessment. The
process is viewed as evolving and inclusive of district constituents
and audiences.
We hope you find the information included here useful in your own
pursuit of student learning enhancement, assessment and reflection.
