Petaluma Faculty October 19, 2009
- If you volunteered to be on the “Technology” committee, I need to know what times are preferable to begin discussions with Jane and Robert, et al They are meeting this week to seriously look over our concerns, then will meet with our group. So please give me a list of best meeting days/times for you
- If you are interested in following through on “Multi-Site” issues, we will be seeing the first report from the MSTF at the D PFF meeting. Jane also asked me if she could share our input and concerns with the Multi-Site Task Force. If you are among those who expressed interest in this issue, we might be setting up times to discuss it further about the time the report comes out.
- Please invite every adjunct you see to come to our next meeting. When the agenda is issued next Tuesday, I will put a letter into every adjunct’s mailbox, as well as one on the webpage.
- Scott Rosen is working on the Web Page and training me as well to post things as they come up. I will be working over the next couple of weeks to restore old archives (agendas, minutes, etc). He is also creating a Blog Space, which upon activation, is where you find my rants, and hopefully make suggestions for meeting topics, etc.

Correction on yesterday’s letter.
1. The Multi-Site Task Force report will not be available until the November Board meeting, so there will no information on the findings until the December Meeting, but our input will still be passed on.
2. In the next week or so if you have any input regarding “what the department chairs need to know” please send them to me or hold them until I confirm a person who wishes to be an “ambassador”

Dear Petaluma Colleagues,
Welcome to the Fall 09 semester at the Petaluma Campus!
First, we welcome our new full time faculty and all of our esteemed adjunct faculty.Secondly, we are not only preparing for a successful and eventful semester, we are also in the midst of preparing for the Spring Semester and our new facilities. We look forward to this process with great enthusiasm, and are seeking your active participation and input as we begin a new phase of growth.
What is the Petaluma Faculty Forum?
The PFF is officially a subcommittee of the Academic Senate, created to secure the professional rights and to carry out the responsibilities of the faculty of the Petaluma Campus. We provide a vehicle for all faculty to express themselves and to be represented in the governance structure of the Petaluma Campus.
PFF Meeting Schedule:
Building community is the key to strengthening voice and shared vision as we work to establish the Petaluma Campus in this exciting phase of expansion. PFF will meet the first Tuesday of each month.
PFF Bulletin Board:
PFF also maintains a bulletin board, located directly outside the faculty/staff mailroom. Here you can find hard copy of current agendas, minutes, and important related communications.
The PFF Steering Committee welcomes your input at all times and looks forward to serving all our Petaluma campus colleagues. We're looking forward to another productive year.
Sincerely,
PFF Steering Committee |
