Application and Deposit
Classes have enrollment limits; therefore, students are encouraged to submit applications before the priority application deadline to reserve their spot in the classes of their choice. Applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis. The program could close prior to the published deadline if classes are full.

Program Costs
$450 deposit (due WITH your application!)
Basic Fee (approximate) $7,745, EXCLUDING airfare and airport transfers.(based on an enrollment of 80 or more students). This fee also excludes a $250 refundable damage deposit, passport fees, meals other than the continental breakfasts, personal expenses, tuition and administrative fees.

Accomodation in a twin room in a homestay within a residential neighborhood of London in the inner 3 zones of the Londoan transport system. Continental breakfast (cereals, toasts, juice, tea/coffee) will be provided in the homestay five days/week and students will have access to the kitchen for the preparation of other meals. A maximum of 4 students will be placed in each homestay.

For a supplemental fee of $1,250, accommodation in a shared apartment in Central London will be available. Typically, apartments will include 5 students in a 2 bedroom apartment with 1 bathroom or 6/7 students in a 3 bedroom with multiple bathrooms.

For a supplemental fee of $625, students can choose to live in a single room in a homestay. Please note that only a limited number of single rooms are available and they will be allocated on a first come/first served basis.

Program includes:

Access to AIFS Study Center and services of experienced AIF Programme Coordinator and Student Advisors for information, personal advising/counseling, fax and mail services and 24-hour emergency contact service.

Access to student computer lab with 28 work stations at Dilke House; students can have free access to email and internet facilities for the duration fo the semester.

3 day orientation program consisting of an orientation meeting with AIFS staff; workshops on cultural differences; safety/security and travel, local area walking tour, student information packet including comprehensive student handbook, local area information, etc., welcome reception, and a half-day guided sightseeing tour of London by private coach with the services of a professional guide.

AIFS will offer a meal money program whereby students can lodge money (in sterling) at the beginning of the semester and be given it back every 2 weeks throught the program. Information on this will be included in the student information packet and discussed at the orientation/pre-departure meeting.

Special membership in the University of London Union, giving access to Union clubs and societies, low-cost student cafeterias and, at an additional cost, sports facilities.

Weekly cultural program of heavily subsidized extra-curricular activies, including day trips, accompanied by professional guides to a variety of locations, typically including Oxford, Bath, Brighton, Stonehenge/Salisbury, and Stratford-upon-Avon; five theater/sporting performances and guided walking tours.

A London Transport travel pass, valid for use on buses and underground trains in the Central zone and for travel to and from accommodations provided by AIFS, for the duration of the program; a computer lab at the AIFS student center with free access to e-mail and Internet facilities; and medical and fee refund insurance.
