About Adult Reentry Services

Adult Reentry Services is a program designed to assist new, returning and continuing adult learners who have had a break in their formal education of approximately 5 or more years, or who are approximately 25 years of age and older.

Once you become a student, you will be a member of the predominant population on the Santa Rosa Junior College campus. Over 64% of the total enrollment of approximately 40,000 students is 25 years of age and older. Also, you will be part of the highest achieving, conscientious, goal oriented, committed segment of our student population. Adult Reentry Services is at your service if you can answer "yes" to any of the following questions.

  • Do you wish to continue your formal education in order to fulfill a chosen goal?
  • Are you seeking a career or life-style change?
  • Do you want to develop or upgrade a specific job skill?
  • Would you like to increase your earnings?
  • Do you want to take classes for personal enrichment to add interest and expansion to your life?

PRIMARY SERVICES

Initial Orientation
We highly recommend this in-depth orientation to you, the new or returning adult student, as your first step before you see a counselor. Held twice weekly in the Adult Reentry Services in Plover Hall, this orientation provides you with vital information on a variety of important topics including admission and registration, financial aid and scholarship, career exploration, and English and math assessment. You will be provided details on earning an AA degree, the transfer process and completion of a vocational certificate. These supportive, small group sessions help ensure you a successful reentry into the academic arena and, eventually, the completion of your educational goals. Throughout the year:

Wednesday mornings from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Academic, Career & Personal Counseling

By doing so, you can be assured of a less stressful reentry process and a more successful completion of your chosen educational goals.
