i-LEARN is the subcommittee of Project LEARN charged with developing
institutional learning outcomes. These outcomes encapsulate what the
district wishes all students to know or be able to do as a result of
having been a student at SRJC.
This committee, co-chaired by Micca Gray, Instructor/Chair, Library
Services, and KC Boatsman, Director, Institutional Research, met for
the first time in March 2004.
i-LEARN’s goal was to elicit input from faculty, staff and managers
districtwide to gain consensus on what it is we wish all of our students
to know or be able to do as a result of being a student at SRJC. In
Fall 2004, i-LEARN met with 13 different groups, soliciting input from
over 250 faculty, staff and students. The committee then drafted outcomes
based on this input, and submitted the draft back to the college community
for further discussion and refinement. The final product is a list
of seven institutional learning outcomes. The committee’s next
objective is to devise an assessment plan in the 2005-2006 academic
year.
