REPETITION OF COURSES
ADOPT: JANUARY 11, 2005
TITLE 5: 55760, 55761, 55762, 55763 (a-b), 58161
Students may repeat enrollment in any course for credit once to remediate
substandard grades. In addition, students may repeat enrollments in
courses for the number of times so identified in the Catalog.
This policy is applicable in any of the following cases:
- All courses taken at Santa Rosa Junior College for which substandard academic performance is recorded (D, F, NC), may be repeated once, and the substandard grade and credit will be disregarded in the computation of grade point averages.
- When satisfactory work has been recorded (grade of C/CR or better), repetition of coursework shall be permitted:
- When such repetition is necessary for a student to meet a legally mandated training requirement as a condition of continued paid or volunteer employment.
- For the maximum repetitions as permitted by the repeat code assigned to the course.
- Upon petition and with approval of the designated official of the Admissions and Records Office, if the District finds that the previous grade is, at least in part, the result of extenuating circumstances.
Upon petition and with approval of the designated official of the Admissions and Records Office, based on a District finding that a compelling need or benefit exists.
- All coursework on the student's permanent academic record shall be annotated in such a manner that all work remains legible, ensuring a true and complete academic history.
