USE OF COLLEGE FACILITIES
SONOMA COUNTY MULTIPLE SCHOOL ATHLETIC POST SEASON EVENTS
ADOPT: APRIL 8, 1985
REVISED: JULY 10, 1989
REVIEWED: APRIL 10, 2001
Under the provisions of the State of California Civic Center Act and the Community Recreation Act, the use of Santa Rosa Junior College athletic facilities for Multiple School Post-Season (MSPS) events shall be granted when the athletic facilities are not being utilized to carry on the programs of Santa Rosa Junior College and the Department of Physical Education, Dance and Athletics. Organizations which would sponsor MSPS events include, but are not limited to: Catholic Schools League, Middle Schools League, North Bay Athletic League, Private Schools League, and Sonoma County Athletic League.
All use of Santa Rosa Junior College athletic facilities and equipment for the purpose of MSPS events requires approval of a Facility Use Application (FUA). Applications are obtained from and approved by the Community Education Director with the consent of the Athletic Director.
Santa Rosa Junior College has established the following criteria for granting MSPS facility use.
Facility use rental fees shall be waived for MSPS events involving Sonoma County schools that are of a nature consistent with SRJC's Mission. Examples of MSPS events include, but are not limited to the following:
An FUA must be submitted to the Office of Community Education at least eight weeks in advance of the date of the MSPS event.
A non-refundable FUA processing fee must be attached to the application before a facility use request will be reviewed.
Costs shall be assessed for MSPS events whenever use requires services such as supervision, set-up, clean up, security, etc. College staff and representatives of the sponsoring organization shall determine the service requirements for the event. In all cases the level of service required to provide security for the event and to assure the facilities are left in a clean and acceptable condition is subject to final approval by the District.
To ensure maximum use of SRJC athletic facilities and to minimize the potential for conflict, facility use will be prioritized in the following manner:
*Higher grades will receive higher priority when conflicts exist.
Note: Annual MSPS events with previously established historical dates shall not automatically receive facility use priority. No MSPS event shall monopolize an athletic facility or date from year to year.
Concessions will not be operated during any MSPS event except by Santa Rosa Junior College Athletic Bear Cub Trust affiliates or by concessionaires under contract with Santa Rosa Junior College.
All MSPS event users will abide by the rules and regulations set forth by SRJC governing the use of District facilities. In addition, specific departmental rules and regulations may be attached to the approved FUA documents and must be strictly adhered to.
The Office of Community Education must be notified at least two (2) business days in advance of any cancellation for use of the facilities. Otherwise, the organization will be charged for any costs incurred. Exceptions may be made for rainouts.
