We Serve Different Student Groups

The Technology Academy serves unique student groups, that is, we are company-driven and try to be responsive to the input of partner companies for job improvements and training programs of the employees of telecom valley and our community.

Technology students include a higher percentage of full-time (60%) and part-time (18%) workers. Most students (66%) live near the Technology Academy and a lesser percentage (32%) work nearby. Most (47%) consider themselves part-time students, while less (16%) are full-time students or indicate that they (30%) take classes for "personal interest." Half of the students say they are following a defined field of study. There is, of course, the opportunity to learn more about local companies and meet some of their employees - an important part of getting a job in the area.

• High School Students - By special high school counselor arrangement, we also offer class opportunities for high school students.
• Working Students - The Technology Academy offers intensive classes and schedules designed for working students. If we can enroll a couple dozen students with a common interest, we can provide a class or series of classes designed specifically for them.
• SRJC Students - The Technology Academy also serves regular SRJC students, through flexible schedules and intensive class formats. There is, of course, the opportunity to learn more about local companies and meet some of their employees - an important part of getting a job in the area.
