The course of study in CIS 69.55 A and B prepares the student
to take the Oracle DBA Fundamentals I certification exam (IZO-031).
ODU certification indicates a foundation in and apprentice
knowledge of the interactive use of the Oracle database system
in both a Windows and Unix environment. SQL (Structured Query
Language) is the major access methodology utilized throughout.
Courses have been carefully designed to follow Oracle Academic
Initiative (OAI) curriculum. Some students may complete these
courses as a way to prepare for Oracle's certification exams.
Others will enroll as an avenue for advancement in their current
jobs. As students who have completed these courses go
into the community, we expect employers to recognize the high
skill level that these certificates represent.
