Access databases from SRJC Articles & Databases http://www.santarosa.edu/library/databases.

 

Off campus access requires a user name and PIN number. A portal PIN number is assigned to you the first time you use the portal system. If you don't remember your student ID number or your SRJC PIN, log in to the student or faculty portal, select "I do not know my ID number" or "I do not know my PIN code," then follow the instructions to have your information e-mailed to you.

Magazines and Newspaper Articles


The library subscribes to a variety of electronic databases to help you locate articles in popular magazines, scholarly journals and newspapers. The following databases should contain information on your subject:

This is a database developed and managed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). It is a digital archive of life sciences journal literature. Access to PubMed Central is free and unrestricted. While there are no full-text articles via PubMed, you can get citations. Then you can check the library's catalog to see if we have a copy of the title at SRJC. If not you can use Interlibrary Loan to get free copies of articles in journals we do not have at SRJC. It usually takes 7-10 days for articles to arrive, so plan ahead.

Site developed by health professionals is a directory of more than 50,000 reviewed Internet resources on health and medical topics. Includes directories for topics such as: Allied Health, Alternative Medicine, Death and Dying, Diseases and Conditions, Mental Health, Nursing, Women's Health and many others.

Links to information about drugs (both over the counter and prescription) and to specific medical topics and diseases. Good information for the non-professional.

 

Virtual Hospital: http://www .vh.org

The Virtual Hospital (VH) is a project of the Electric Differential Multimedia Laboratory, Department of Radiology, University of Iowa College of Medicine. It features medical information of interest to both health care professionals and consumers. Links are arranged by major body systems and hospital departments. Emphasis is on radiology. Ability to search in patient or health care provider mode.

There are strict guidelines for resource inclusion and a URL stability ranking for each website.
