| BOOK REVIEWS: PRINT SOURCES | |||
| Book review indexes are useful for locating reviews of an author's works. Book reviews can also provide an example of how a professional book response is written. If the writer of a book is not well known, and little or no biographical information is available concerning that person, a book review may provide some biographical facts. To find book reviews, consult the following sources. Look first in the volume which covers the year in which your book was published. If no review appears, try the next year's volume. | |||

| BOOK REVIEWS: ELECTRONIC SOURCES | |||
| Expanded Academic ASAP, ProQuest Newspapers and Literature Resource Center are electronic databases accessed from the Magazines and Other Databases link on the library's Main Menu | |||
| To find reviews in Expanded Academic ASAP, do a keywords search and type in the book title, then select a citation that indicates (book reviews). | |||
| To find reviews in ProQuest Newspapers select advanced search. In the first box type book review. Click on the triangle next to the box that says Basic Fields and change the search field to Article Type. Click in the second box and type in an author, last name first, e.g., Wolfe, Tom. Click on the triangle next to the box that says Basic Fields and change the search field to Personal Name. Click on the Search button. | |||
| To find critical essays on a particular writer's work select either of the Twayne databases listed on the Literary Resources Center Page. | |||
