Outlook 2001

Using RULES to help with email organization.
This example will show how to automatically move email from DL.STAFF.ALL to a separate folder for review at a later time.

NOTE: Even though this example shows messages being redirected to a folder outside your Inbox, the messages in this folder will still contribute to your total mailbox size. You must remember to periodically check for and delete messages in this folder or you will eventually exceed your storage limit.

Start Outlook 2001

Turn your Folder List view on

In the Folder List view, select Mailbox - Your User Name

Create a new folder for storing the email
Select File -> New -> Folder...

You will see the following window

Type in DL.Staff.All in this example. And click on OK

You will see the created folder in the list

Now we will create the rule
Select Tools -> Rules...

The following windows appears
Click the Add Rule... button

Click on the Sent To... button

This following window appears
Type dl. in the box
Select DL.STAFF.ALL and click the TO-> button

Click the Move to checkbox and click on the Folder... button
