Athletics
The Physical Education, Dance and Athletics Department offers
student participation on 20 men's and women's athletic teams, serving approximately
500 student-athletes each year. The college belongs to the Northern California Football
Alliance in football and the Bay Valley Conference for all other sports. In order
to be eligible for intercollegiate athletics, the student athlete must be enrolled
in 12 units, 9 of which must be academic in nature. More information is available

Bookstore
Sells new and used textbooks, reference and general reading books, school and office supplies and other items. Buys back texts which will be used the following semester and provides a special refund policy for textbooks during the first three weeks of each semester.

Campus Police
District police officers provide 24 hour, 7 days a week patrols
enforcing all California laws and District policies. Non-sworn personnel provide
parking enforcement, and other services such as campus door openings, battery jumps,
and fingerprinting. The office staff maintains lost and
found, sells parking permits, and reviews parking citations. Crimes occurring on
or about District properties are investigated by District police officers.

Children's Center
Five childcare classrooms serve children from 6 months to 5 years of age. The center is open during fall and spring semesters and closed in the summer. In addition to providing exemplary childcare, the center serves as a model demonstration program for child development students and student teachers. The program is accredited through the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. Both subsidized and non-subsidized childcare is offered. Telephone for waiting list registration and cost.

Computer Labs
There are computer labs at the Santa Rosa and Petaluma campuses that are available to enrolled students for doing assignments. Visit each lab to learn what specific criteria and procedures are required for use of the facility, and pick up a schedule for additional hours. Note: A photo ID is required for all computer labs.

Math Labs
SRJC has numerous resources to help you with math. There are two labs with mathematics software. The College Skills lab has software and instructional assistance for arithmetic, pre-algebra, and beginning algebra. The Math lab in 1733 Shuhaw has software for algebra through calculus and other sciences such as chemistry, biology and physics.
Counseling & Support Services
Services include academic planning, career counseling and testing, personal counseling, assistance with study skills and related classes. Counselors are available by appointment or on a drop-in basis.

CyBear Center
The CyBear Center's purpose is to develop and sustain a student
copy resource center that provides staff, service, and equipment to support individual
and group academic, co-curricular, and professional projects. The CyBear Center is
your comprehensive student copy resource center offering computers, color copies,
b/w copying, digital laser printing, laminating, faxing, scanning, and document creation
and handling services. We also have a complete line of standard and custom papers.
We are committed to the lowest prices possible to cover our costs, a friendly and
knowledgeable staff, up-to-date technology and a dynamic environment open to your
suggestions. So come on in and check out your copy resource center.

Library
The Doyle Library on the Santa Rosa Campus and the Mahoney
Library on the Petaluma Campus have an excellent collection of books, periodicals,
a comprehensive reference collection, computer-based information sources, and collections
of text books, college catalogs, and telephone books. Videotapes and other media
are also available. There is an extensive electronic database which you can access
from the campus labs or from your home computer.
Walking tours of the library are available on audio tape along with self-paced exercises teaching the use of the catalog, electronic magazine databases and the Internet. Two half unit self-paced courses on print and electronic information resources are taught, as are several Internet courses and courses on writing term papers and on information competency. During the regular school year, your SRJC ID card allows you to check out books at both the SRJC and Sonoma State University libraries. At Sonoma State there is a small additional one-time charge.

ADULT Reentry Services
Offers information and assistance to returning adults (approximately
25 years of age and older) who are considering beginning or continuing their college
education. Services include: initial orientation sessions, academic counseling, classes
in study skills, career development, college survival, workshops, transfer seminars,
campus and community referrals.

Student Affairs & Associated Students
Student Affairs coordinates the extra-curricular activities of students, the Associated Students, campus clubs and college-wide committees. New students might use the Student Affairs office to arrange a tour of the campus, use a free phone, locate off-campus housing, or use the ride board. This is also a place to ask general information questions.
If you join Associated Students (during registration or later) you are eligible for many benefits, including: discount on parking fees, free or discounted admissions to many campus events, discounts from local merchants, and eligibility for Book Loan Fund.

Student Health Services
All students enrolled in credit courses(s) are eligible to participate in Student Health Services programs and receive care through the Health Center. Services include Nurse Practitioner and Physician care for students who are ill, injured or have health concerns, first aid and basic emergency care, health education, health screenings, community referrals, immunizations and TB screenings.
Student Psychological Services include individual, couples, family and group therapy, crisis intervention and community referrals.
The Dental Hygiene Clinic located in the Race Building on the Santa Rosa campus provides low-cost dental services to students and the community.

Study Abroad
Santa Rosa Junior College's International Studies program provides students with the opportunity to take advantage of educational opportunities abroad while continuing to progress in their regular college curriculum.
Students receive college credit for courses offered in London, Paris, Florence and Costa Rica. Courses, which are taught by American faculty and offered in English, are designed to take advantage of the unique cultural, historical, economic and political aspects of the countries in which the students are visiting.

Transfer Center
The Santa Rosa Junior College Transfer Center has been developed
to accomplish two main purposes. The first is to provide information about specific
majors and programs to students who plan to transfer to four-year colleges and universities;
the second is to encourage and facilitate the transfer of students who are, and have
been, historically under-represented in higher education. Students are encouraged
to use the ongoing Transfer Center services which are published in the Transfer Topics
newsletter and in Bear Facts.
