It is an important choice to attend college. In making this choice, you become responsible for learning how the college system works. Orientations are designed to help you learn about various college requirements and resources, and have a successful start at SRJC.

  • Counseling 270, Introduction to College. Completion of his 9-hour (.5 unit) course will earn a student Priority 4 registration. This course is the most complete introduction to college for new students. COUN 270 is offered in Spring and Summer and students can register from their student portal. It is very important to complete the English and math placement tests before attending COUN 270. Students will learn program requirements for their academic goals.

  • Online Orientation. This internet-based orientation can be completed in 30-45 minutes. Designed for students planning to enroll in six or fewer units, or who have prior successful college experience. Completion of the online orientation and quiz will provide a Priority 5 for registration.

  • New Student Orientation is for all students returning to school or attending college for the first time. Attending this orientation will provide Priority 5 for registration. Call (707) 527-4451 for orientation dates and times.

  • Priority Registration. Please refer to the current priority registration schedule found in the Student Portal.
