At Santa Rosa Junior College the number of each course indicates whether or not it will apply to an Associate degree, and if it will transfer to the California State University (CSU) or the University of California (UC) for credit toward a bachelor's degree.

  • Courses numbered 1 - 299 are accepted for an Associate degree at SRJC
  • Courses numbered 1- 99 will be accepted for credit by the CSU
  • Courses numbered 1 - 47 (and some courses numbered 48 and 49) will be accepted for credit by the UC
  • In general, independent and out-of-state colleges/universities accept courses numbered 1 - 49. It is important to meet with a counselor and establish contact with these colleges/universities to verify acceptable courses.

Examples:

  • Sociology 1 is accepted for the Associate degree, and for credit at CSU & UC
  • Math 155 is accepted for the Associate degree, but not for credit at either CSU or UC
  • English 302 is not accepted for the Associate degree or for credit at either CSU or UC
  • Speech 60 is accepted for the Associate degree and for credit at the CSU, but it is not accepted for credit at UC
