Welcome to Online Orientation for SRJC

As a college student, you are expected to follow the steps for new students and to be actively engaged in understanding requirements for your educational goal. Counselors and others are here to help you reach your goal, but ultimately you are responsible for your own learning and understanding of academic requirements. Use this orientation to learn as much as you can before you meet with a counselor. Completion of an orientation is one important step toward being a successful student.

Directions: Plan to spend 30-45 minutes with this orientation. Use the left side navigational bar to direct your progress through the orientation information. Below is an overview of how information is organized.

• Steps for New Students These links provide you with the basic information about becoming a student, registering and paying for courses, and new student information on subjects like parking, transcripts, buying books, etc.
• Your Educational Goals Learn about the programs available to you (certificate and career training programs, Associate Degrees, and preparation to transfer to a university) in the section named "Choose Your Goal". Learn about general education requirements, choosing and preparing for a major, and the SRJC course numbering system in the section named "Choose Your Courses".
• Resources and Services These links provide you with the many resources available at SRJC.
• Earning Priority Registration Learn about priority registration system and after reviewing all of the orientation, take the quiz to earn priority registration.
