The Modular Basic Academy consists of three distinct modules offered over an 11 month period. Successful completion of each module satisfies the POST training requirements for Level III, Level II and Level Reserve Officer certification. Completion of all three modules also satisfies the POST training requirements for the Basic Law Enforcement course and meets the minimum POST training standards to be eligible for employment as a peace office in California.
Students who have completed any Reserve Officer Training prior to January 1999 would not be eligible to enroll in either Module B or C without taking Module A. Students who have completed Module A or B prior to that date are eligible to enroll in the next module. This applies to student completing these modules at another community college that is certified to present them.
