What is the Seniors Program?

Since 1973, Santa Rosa Junior College has offered a select number of noncredit classes designed for senior members of our community as a part of a program of lifelong learning. Class activities offer seniors a wide range of options depending on their abilities and interests. Classes provide activities that maintain physical, cognitive, social, and emotional health. Specific topics include exercise/stress reduction, arts and crafts, autobiographical writing, music appreciation, discussion of important current issues, and other topics of special interest to older adults.

Classes are held at senior centers, retirement communities, and convalescent hospitals during the fall and spring semesters as well as the summer session.

Whom does it serve?

Regardless of their living arrangement or cognitive ability, the College brings the courses to students at convenient times and sites. Classes are open to anyone regardless of age (You don’t need to be a senior citizen.) who can benefit from class activities.
