Request for Product Demonstration

Santa Rosa Junior College intends to buy a series of computer projectors soon. Because of the changes since our last evaluation we are requesting Vendors to demonstrate new products that meet the following basic specifications. We are not providing brightness specs but are interested in brightest in our price range

Additional funding in this budget cycle could allow us to buy additional quantities of type listed below. We intend to purchase the following type of projectors.

Anticipated purchase- 5 (max. selling $5,400 not including sales tax)

Minimum requirements:

IR Remote Control

Lens capable of projecting an image 84"-96" wide from 15 feet away.

Separate Video & Computer inputs

True XGA 1024 x 768 resolution

Dual Audio Inputs (Video & Computer) with switched outputs (audio follows video)

Additional features desired:

HDTV Inputs

Volume control on remote controls the output on line out

Separate on-off control (vs. "toggle" power)

We will be using the following criteria when "grading" the demonstrated products.

· How well does it automatically adjust to different input sources/scan rates (Scale 0-4)

· Clarity of XGA image (Scale 0-4)

· Clarity of S-VGA image (Scale 0-2)

· Clarity of VGA image (Scale 0-2)

· Clarity of NTSC Video image (Scale 0-3)

· Apparent brightness (Scale 0-3)

· Rated Lamp Life (Scale 0-3)

· Warranty Period (Scale 1-3

· Overall design related to durable construction, mounting points, serviceability (scale 0-4)

· Additional features by technical staff

Zoom Lens capable of projecting an image 12.5'-16' wide from 50 feet away

The Demonstration will be Week of July 28th. Vendors should plan on arriving around noon and be ready to swap & show by 1:30 PM. I hope to be done by 4PM.

This will be a semi-formal session with about 10 people from the college.

Please indicate via a reply By Monday 07-21-03 what brands and models you are interested in showing. I will eliminate duplicate models after review the returned responses.

If you can not attend but would like to ship product please indicate that.

Remember that the college will be selecting a standard from this process and only that model will be considered for purchase.
