IMPROVING YOUR GRADES
VISUALIZE
To recall a structure, process or other concept, it helps to be able to mentally visualize whatever it is you are trying to remember. Even broad and complex concepts can be visualized when related to the real world of life forms. In addition, if you have taken care to write words carefully forming clear and legible letters, it is easier to visualize to words themselves. Words are a set of abstract symbols called letters that, when placed in the correct sequence, have a specific meaning that relates to the real world. If you have clearly printed the word out, your memory can visualize or picture the word itself. The next step would be to visualize what that word or term stands for in the real world.
One technique for visualizing certain terms is to prepare flash cards. On one side of a flash card is the term, on the back side could be a drawing, flow chart, color photo or line drawing that accurately depicts the term. Click your mouse on the terms below to observe example flash cards.
