Reviewing exams recently taken
(Under
construction)
Always go over an exam you have recently received back form your instructor. Compare your exam to the key in the attempt to discern HOW you missed questions.
For multiple choice exams, categorize missed questions under the following:
Information: you simply did not know the material.
Going too fast: You didn't go over the question carefully and as a result you were not clear about the intent of the question.
Question was very difficult: the material was abstract or very complex
Wording was difficult to understand: the way the instructor worded the question was not clear. A different choice of sentence structure or choice of terms would have made the question clear.
Make a count of the questions you have incorrect for each of the categories above. This can be a step in the direction of improving test scores, as you will understand how you are missing questions.
