IMPROVING YOUR GRADES
REVIEW

Immediately after a lecture, review your lecture notes. Make notations where you may have missed some information and plan to get together with a study partner to fill in those blanks. Do NOT go to your instructor and expect that he or she will complete your notes for you.

That evening, read your text book, study guide or handouts as a review of the lecture presented that very day. Do not wait a whole week to finally review the material. It will be even worse if you wait until the night just before the exam to review the material. You will work very hard to learn all that material, and it will seem to you that you can only earn a 'C' even with very hard laborious work, when in fact all that blood, sweat and tears was primarily due to poor planning and bad study habits.

In general, plan to spend about 2 to 3 hours per day reviewing and studying for every unit of class credit.
