Ensatina eschscholtzi platensis
Distribution Map
To the north, platensis shows a sharp discontinuity of intergradation with oregonensis. Combined with molecular evidence (Wake, 1997), just north of Mount Lassen there is an incipient species formation in progress.
To the south in the Greenhorn Mountains, platensis intergrades with the subspecies croceater.
