• Plant life: Aquatic to Terrestrial Transitions

 

ASSIGNMENTS:

• Answer questions from the laboratory manual. Be completely familiar with the classification system covering plants, and animals(refer to section of the lab manual). Be able to classify any organism seen on the demonstration boards.
• Special emphasis will be given to aquatic to terrestrial transitions in plants and animals. Be familiar with those body parts, physiological processes and behavior that enable organisms to survive on land. Know what physical factors make life on land difficult for living things.

 

Bio10 Lab CD:

• Study thoroughly the Bio10 LabLect CD Ver 3.1 on the topics listed above.
• Review the introductory sections: Prelude, Planet Earth and The Biosphere.
• Be familiar with the various terrestrial biomes and their characteristics. Note the review sections on these topics.

 

NOTE:

• Questions on the lab practical will be selected from any material in the lab manual, as well as the Bio10 LabLect CD Ver 3.1. There will be example questions for this lab practical. Again, available for your reference during the practical exam will be an alphabetized list of terms.
