Library Computers
Library computers are provided primarily for uses which support education and learning at SRJC.
This includes doing research for class work, preparing and printing
class papers, reports and projects, using class web pages and discussion
forums, e-mailing instructors and other class members, and other related activities.
NOTE: Although the SRJC libraries have computers, the libraries are not computer labs, and they have no on-site technical support staff who can teach you how to use the software or troubleshoot computer or network problems. Library staff will try to answer basic questions related to web browsers and to Microsoft Word software, but if you need more detailed instruction in how to use software, please use one of the many computer labs on campus where there are lab aides who are trained to help you with software questions.
Library computer users are bound by the SRJC
Acceptable Use Policy for Instructional Computers.

Doyle Library
The Doyle Library offers computer workstations throughout the building for uses related to education and learning at SRJC. Doyle Library computers do NOT have floppy drives. For best results, save your documents to a USB "flash drive" (also known as a "jump drive" or a "thumb drive"). Flash drives are on sale in the SRJC bookstore and at many retail stores such as Circuit City, Office Depot, etc., and they're easy to use. If you can't use a flash drive on your home computer and you want to save your documents to a floppy disk instead, you may borrow a floppy drive from the Circulation Desk on the second floor, and connect it to the library computer you are using.
Each Doyle Library computer workstation has a white tape label with a code on it for that particular computer (for example: B02-34). You will need this code when you go to pick up webpages and other documents which you sent to the printer from that workstation.
Out of courtesy to other library users, please use headphones if you are viewing websites or using software which uses music or other sounds. Headphones can be checked out at the Periodicals Desk (second floor) or the Reserve Desk (fourth floor).
