New Online Databases
Have Arrived!
This summer, the SRJC Library adds two new databases to
its existing database collections.
North American Theatre Online
Plus contains the full texts of
thousands of plays by North American authors, including plays
by black, Asian, Latino and women playwrights. In addition,
this database includes information on people, theaters, productions
and theater companies, as well as images, floor plans, playbills,
posters, and other ephemera, from the 1600s to the present.
The database is a goldmine for students of literature and theater
arts.
The CRC Handbook of Chemistry & Physics offers a wealth of data
on the properties of organic and inorganic compounds. This classic
library reference book will be useful for research in the fields
of pure and applied sciences, engineering and technology.
Check out the new databases on the Library's "Articles
& Databases" web page.

National Library Week, April 15 - 21, 2007
Think libraries are just a place to find books? Well, think again! Today's libraries are wired for sound. We not only have books and magazines and newspapers for your use, but also online encyclopedias, scholarly journals, health databases and many other electronic information sources.
We can help you find information on almost anything, from child psychology to global warming, from how to write a resumé to how to bellydance.
In honor of National Library Week, posters
of 29 SRJC students, faculty and library staff members with
some of their favorite books are on display in the first and
second floor exhibit cases in Doyle Library, and in the Mahoney
Library. Come check us out or view the posters online: web
page version .... slideshow

April is National Poetry Month
For many of us, the way poetry was taught when we were younger made the art form seem boring, irrelevant or downright painful. (See former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins' poem about this experience.) But poetry can make us laugh, can give us new insights, can lift our spirits and give us respite from a busy world.
In honor of National Poetry Month, here are a few places where you can read poetry, listen to it online and learn more about it.
