JSTOR consists of six large collections of articles gathered from over 780 academic and scholarly journals. The collections cover a wide variety of topics in the sciences and the humanities. All articles are included full text. Users can search the entire set at once or search subsets of journals by broad subject disciplines.
The collections included in JSTOR are:
- Arts & Sciences I Collection
- Includes 119 core journals in economics, history, political science, and sociology, as well as in other key fields in the humanities and social sciences. This collection also contains titles in ecology, mathematics, and statistics.
- Arts & Sciences III Collection
- Includes articles from 150 academic journals, covering languages and literature, music, film studies, folklore, performing arts, religion, and the history and study of art and architecture.
- Arts & Sciences IV Collection
- 112 journals with a strong focus on the professions of business, education, law, psychology and public policy and administration.
- Arts & Sciences Complement
- 233 additional journals in the arts, humanities, and social sciences disciplines.
- Biological Sciences Collection
- Brings together 129 journals available in the JSTOR Ecology & Botany Collection with more than 100 titles that span the sciences. The collection is particularly strong in ecology and evolutionary biology, plant and animal sciences, paleontology, and conservation.
- Health & General Sciences Collection
- 37 important historical scientific journals and top publications in the health sciences, offering published scientific research dating as far back as 1665. Includes publications of the Royal Society of London, which extend back to the seventeenth century, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, which dates from the early twentieth century. A cluster of titles in nursing and epidemiology is also available.
- Public Health Reports
- The official journal of the U.S. Public Health Service, containing peer-reviewed articles in three main areas: public health practice, research, and viewpoints/commentaries.
