Awarded by the Pulitzer Board for intellectual and artistic excellence in journalism, letters, drama and music
The MacArthur Fellows Program
The Program provides 5-year fellowships to exceptionally talented and promising individuals who have shown evidence of originality, dedication to creative pursuits, and capacity for self-direction so that they may have the freedom to devote themselves to their own endeavors at their own pace.

The Newbery Medal
Awarded by the American Library Association's Association for Library Service to Children to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.
The Caldecott Medal
Awarded by the American Library Association's Association for Library Service to Children to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.
Children's Book Awards
A comprehensive guide to English-language children's book awards on the Internet from the Children's Literature Web Guide.
The Hugo Award
Presented by the World Science Fiction Society (WSFS) for excellent works in science fiction novel, short story, editing, writing, fanzine, etc.
The Nebula Awards

Math & Science Awards

The Fields Medal
The equivalent of a Nobel Prize in the field of Mathematics, established to recognize both existing mathematical work and also the promise of future achievement. Only awarded to mathematicians under age 40.
American Physical Society's Prizes and Awards
"A prize or award presented by The American Physical Society is one of the highest honors a physicist can receive. It is a symbol of the admiration of a physicist's peers and demonstrates that the recipient's accomplishments and contributions to physics are judged exceptional by those of his colleagues who are best able to judge their value."
