SRJC PATHWAYS TO TEACHING IN CALIFORNIA Early Childhood Teaching Elementary School Teaching Middle/High School Teaching Career & Technical Teaching Special Education Teaching Decorative Collage

As an Education Specialist you will be able to provide instruction designed for students with developmental, emotional, physical, or learning disabilities. These students require specialized teaching and related services to meet their educational needs that cannot be met by simply modifying regular instruction.  As a Special Education teacher, you may work with disabled pre-school, elementary, middle, or high school students, or young adults.

For more information about Special Education students and some video profiles of Special Education teachers, go to the Teach California Web site.

SRJC can begin your preparation to meet the very great (and growing) need for Education Specialists.  If you are drawn to the satisfactions of this work, we encourage you to pursue a Special Education credential.
