The Single-Subject Credential is for students who plan to teach a particular subject, usually in middle school or high school (grades 7-12). Students interested in single-subject teaching should pursue the discipline they want to teach. Subject matter areas taught in public schools include English, Mathematics, Science, History, Economics, Physical Education, Art, Music, or Languages. Students preparing to teach in a single subject should complete SRJC’s General Education patterns B or C.
