![]() Community Involvement enables students to contribute to their community, pursue their educational experience beyond the classroom, and further their academic goals on a VOLUNTARY basis in nonprofit agencies, the public sector, nonprofit hospitals, or educational institutions. (Examples: tutoring, reading for the blind, or serving as aides in classrooms or health facilities.) The students must be registered with Santa Rosa Junior College. This is a graded course; however, you can choose to take it for CR/NC. You may earn a maximum of three units each semester. A a total of six units is allowed toward an A.A. or A.S. degree from any community college in California. Volunteer hours required:
REGISTRATION Students must develop objectives with the community agency representative and obtain approval from the Community Involvement instructor. Forms are available in the Work Experience office and must be returned to the Community Involvement instructor before a registering. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT REQUIREMENTS
