ASP programmers are responsible for making “interactive” portions a Web site. This may include creating a shopping cart application, building a database, or creating and processing feedback forms. Depending on the size of the project, the ASP programmer may also be responsible for the administration of the Web server.
Understanding how ASP can be used to enhance a Web site is a key element of the Web Site Development Active Server Page (ASP) Programmer Certificate of Achievement program. The program stresses a thorough understanding of HTML Visual Basic ASP and the use databases on the Web. Students will be expected to deliver Web-based solutions to business requirements.
A successful ASP programmer exhibits a strong work ethic, perfectionists standard, patience, strong people skills, and an attention to detail. ASP programmers are expected to design, program, test, and resolve problems utilizing Web-centric application technologies, as well as provide production support.
