YARD PERSON, SONOMA COMPOST CO.

Sonoma Compost operates the Organic Recycling Program for the County and its cities. We convert yard trimmings and wood waste into compost, mulches and bio-fuel. We also sell recycled lumber.

We are looking for a bright, energetic person with an interest in gardening, landscaping or agriculture. Must be good with people, have good basic math skills and be willing to work week-ends.  

After training, the ideal candidate will advise customers about our organic soil products and recycled lumber, complete retail and wholesale sales, answer phones, prepare computerized invoices and schedule deliveries.

Additional duties include loading vehicles with a front-end loader, basic equipment maintenance, maintaining our demonstration garden and splitting firewood.
