Agriculture Ambassadors at Santa Rosa Junior College

AG Ambassadors

The purpose of the SRJC Agriculture Ambassadors is to foster, promote, maintain, and support students in agriculture; assist and guide them in becoming more responsible, involved, and knowledgeable in the area of agriculture; enrich students’ experiences as part of the total college experience; promote service to the college and the community; and emphasize the development of leadership, character, and judgment.

Students who participate in Ag Ambassadors gain many important qualities, including confidence, decision making, teamwork, leadership, and dedication. These skills help students become more marketable to future employment prospects. Ag Ambassadors apply their skills at functions that inform the community about career and educational opportunities in the agricultural industry.

There are many positive returns on the time and effort spent as an Agriculture Ambassador. As SRJC Ag Ambassadors students have the opportunity to attend conferences that focus on leadership training where they can gain valuable insight about all aspects of agriculture. Ag Ambassadors also learn how to promote the agricultural industry and themselves while, at the same time, making valuable professional contacts.

How to Become an Agriculture Ambassador

The easiest way to become an Agriculture Ambassador is to enroll in AGBUS 51: Agriculture Leadership. By enrolling in the class, students are given an opportunity to become Agriculture Ambassadors as they enjoy the myriad leadership activities during the semester while earning 2 units.
