Our Work Experience, Internship and Community Involvement Courses provide you with Soft Skills improvement opportunities.

Earn CSU transferable units for working at your part time job.

STEPS TO ENROLLING IN A WORK EXPERIENCE CLASS

  • Be employed by a properly licensed business

  • Enroll in a Work Experience Course and complete the required Employment Information Form

  • Purchase a Work Experience Handbook from the Bookstore on the Santa Rosa or Petaluma campus

COURSE INFORMATION 

  • General Work Experience (WRKEX 97) courses are for students working at jobs that are not related to their majors or educational goals. Students earn credit and improve employer required 21st century work skills, such as communication, teamwork, and customer service.

  • Occupational Work Experience (WEOC 99) courses are for students who work at jobs related to their majors or educational goals. Students earn credit and improve employer required 21st century work skills, such as communication, teamwork, and customer service.

  • Internships (WEOC 99I) courses are for students who are ready for on-the-job application of classroom learning in a work environment. Students must have a declared major and have completed related coursework.

  • Community Involvement (CI 51, 53 and 54) courses are self-directed and designed to facilitate experiential learning and service to the community.
